How do I work with Easypad which is a Notepad with Ribbon UI?
NotePad is the popular text editor which ships with all versions of Windows. NotePad exists from the days of Windows 3.1. It is a very popular tool among Programmers as they make use of it to edit codes, particularly HTML code for web page development. Even though Microsoft has made several improvements to NotePad, it still lacks the popular Ribbon UI which was introduced in Office 2007 and Office 2010.
Paras Sidhu has developed a special NotePad application named Easypad which contains Toolbar with Ribbon User Interface (UI). You just need to download the installation package, extract the contents and double click the executable file named Easypad 3.0 Beta. You need not have to perform any installation to work with Easypad. I would prefer to see the placement of a shortcut automatically so that users can easily access the application.
The Toolbar contains several options under 4 different heads as shown in the screenshots given below
You can easily access the various options easily. For instance, you can modify the font color by selecting an appropriate color choice by selecting Customization bar.
Moreover, it is also possible to activate Spell Check, which automatically check the spellings from the documents. If there are Spelling errors then it will be underlined with red color. You can get a suggestion by right clicking on it as in Word 2010.
You will also observe that the mouse cursor looks different inside Easypad. It would be helpful if the developer provides an option to change the cursor. From my point of view, Easypad is an excellent alternative for those users who feel bored with NotePad.
