Imagine you have lot of pictures which are over 2 MB in size. It is naturally difficult to upload them to social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace. Hence, there is a need to compress the images so that its size will be reduced. You should also take care to prevent loss of quality.

Caesium is a software which allows you to reduce the size of the images up to 90% while preserving the original quality. The product includes several features such as Batch Processing, Easy Preview, picture wise compression level, Metatag information support, Multilanguage support and much more.

In order to work with Caesium you should download it from Sourceforge project page. A shortcut on the desktop will be placed automatically after a successful installation.

I noticed that Caesium compressed one of my sample picture but the difference was not widely noticeable. I feel that the product will be useful for big size images. I would suggest you to try CaesiumĀ  if you have lot of images and would like to compress them for sharing them across the web.
