Protect your Images with Watermark Image from Intel AppUp Center

August 29th, 2011 2 Comments

You generate screenshots for various purposes. For instance, if you write an article regarding a product you will capture screenshots of the user interface screens and insert them at the appropriate place of the review.

However, there is an increased possibility to steal the images you captured by the visitors of your website. Hence, it is very essential to protect the images by providing a text of your choice. In tech parlance, the text is also called as Watermark. Watermark Image is a freeware available for download under Utilities category of Intel AppUp center.

You can easily install and launch the app from within the Intel AppUp Center interface. Alternatively, you can also double click the icon named Watermark Images from the desktop to work with the app.

In order to generate a Watermark, you should first select an image from your system by selecting File | Open menu.

The next step is to provide a content of your choice inside the Text field. I would prefer to give my own domain name as the Watermark. With the help of Watermark Image, you can easily insert a watermark either on the top or bottom of the image by selecting the appropriate option.

Moreover, you can choose a font including its size of your choice and text color by selecting Font button.

You can also set opacity which indicates the level of visibility of the Watermark by selecting a value of your choice. The App provides an ability to preview the changes as soon as you make the required changes as shown below

Finally, you should save the watermarked image by selecting Save button and providing a file name of your choice. The file will be saved and a message box will be displayed to indicate the successful generation of the Watermark

The final output of the watermarked image will look like as shown in Figure 6

Suggestion

I would prefer to see a feature with which I can link the watermark text to an external site, which I hope will be available in the next version of the freeware.

Watermark Image – Video Demonstration

I have created a short video demonstration which shows the working of Watermark Image App.

Conclusion

I am going to place a watermark on all the images I capture for the blog posts from now onwards with Watermark Image App because the app is light weight and very easy to use.
