How do I Change to 12 hour Time Format in Windows 7?
By default, Windows 7 displays the time in 24 hour format. However, I prefer to use 12 hour format. With the help of Windows 7, you can easily change the time format by following the steps given below.
In order to modify the time format from 24 hour to 12 hour in Windows 7, click the time and date section located on the Taskbar and select Change date and time settings… link. The Date and Time dialog will be displayed on the screen as shown below

Click Change date and time… button from the above displayed dialog. The Date and Time Settings dialog will be displayed on the screen.
Select Change calendar settings link from the bottom of the dialog and click Time tab. You will view a dialog as shown below

Under the Time formats panel, you will find drop down boxes titled Short time and Long time. Provide the following values on the drop down box and select Apply button
Short time – hh:mm
Long time – hh:mm:ss (Time with trailing Zero – 05.50)
Long Time – h:mm:ss (Time without trailing Zero – 5.50)
That’s it. From now onwards, the time in your system will be shown in 12 hour format.
You can revert back to 24 hour time format by applying the following short codes in the relevant drop down box.
Short time – HH:mm
Long time – HH:mm:ss
As you can see, it is very easy to switch between 12 hour and 24 hour time formats in Windows 7.
