Automatically Capture Images from WebCam using WebCamImageSave
If you allow multiple number of persons to access your PC then you will need to know what the other user does when you are away. WebCamImageSave is a freeware which enables you to capture a still image from your camera every number of seconds that you choose, and save it into image file on your hard disk. You can select the location where the images should be saved along with other relevant options.
The installation package is available in ZIP format and doesn’t require any installation. You just need to double click the executable file to work with WebCamImageSave. You will view a screen as shown below
As you can see, it is possible to set the duration for capturing images including the quality of JPEG picture. WebCamImageSave also provides an ability to add a label with the date/time that the image was captured, by using the font, color, and date/time format that you choose by selecting the relevant option from the above screen. Moreover, you can also capture a single camera image from command-line, without displaying any user interface.
By default the images are saved as %date:yyyyMMdd%%time:HHmmss%.jpg format. In order to capture images, you should first start the WebCam by starting it. The user interface window will turn green and the freeware begins to capture images. You will view the images inside the corresponding folder.
However, I noticed that all the captured images are in green background without any content. I hope the vendor will resolve the error in the next version of the software. From my point of view, WebCamImageSave is developed based on an excellent theme but it doesn’t worked as expected.
